Nicole Richie is an American fashion designer, actress, author, singer and television personality. Nicole was born in California and her biological father is Peter Michael Escovedo, he was a musician that was very good friends with Lionel Richie.
At the age of three her parents agreed to let Nicole live with Lionel Richie and Brenda Harvey because they could not provide for her financially. When Nicole was nine years old she was adopted officially by Lionel and his wife.
She rose to fame when she appeared in the FOX reality TV series The Simple Life with best friend Paris Hilton. During the five years of The Simple Life Richie was a constant fixture for tabloid journalism and was constantly talked about in the media.
After the show she did many projects with different charities, she created the charity The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation in 2007 with her partner Joel Madden and they raised over $100,000 dollars bringing water pumps to several villages.
She met Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden in 2006 and they are now married and have two children Harlow Winter and Sparrow James.
