Man Shot Dead After E-40 Show

Rapper E-40's concert in Colorado last week (02-Apr-09) ended in tragedy when a man was shot dead following the show.

The man's body was found in his car in the early hours of Friday after leaving the Mr. Biggs Family Fun Center in Colorado Springs, where the veteran star had performed.

Police claim bullets were fired at the victim as he sat in his vehicle. They have arrested 22 year old Terry Gaines, Jr. in connection with the incident; he was spotted speeding off after the shots rang out.

News of the violence comes just four months after another E-40 gig in the state descended into chaos. The rapper was forced to deny any involvement in the brawl that occured during a performance in Denver in December (08), when five people were injured in a shoot out.

IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE HELPS BUILD AFGHAN ORPHANAGE

Rapper Immortal Technique has been giving back to the Islamic community - by helping to build an orphanage in war-torn Afghanistan.

The MC, real name Felipe Coronel, is known for his politically-driven rhymes and he recently travelled to the Muslim country to volunteer in the construction of the Amin Institute in the capital city of Kabul.

Coronel had been instrumental in raising funds for the Institute, playing a series of benefit concerts and donating some of his own money to turn the plans for the children's orphanage, school and medical facility into a reality, reports BallerStatus.com.

He joined fellow volunteers and staff members for its grand opening last week (ends03Apr09), and the rapper has praised locals for making him feel at home during his trip.

He says, "If you are a visitor, they will treat you like one of their own and more... They are some of the humbled and more respectful people I have ever come across. You have to admire their resilience of their spirit, fighting again and again (against the Taliban and Al Qaeda) to retain their independence and identity."

The hip-hop star has filmed his travels for a movie with director C. Stuart, who accompanied him to Afghanistan.

Bishop Lamont Dismisses Rumours Of Aftermath Axe

Rapper Bishop Lamont has blasted reports he has been axed from superproducer Dr. Dre's record label.

The star signed to Aftermath Records in 2005, but reports surfaced over the weekend (04-05-Apr-09) suggesting he had been dropped from Dre's roster of artists - and was in the process of joining 50 Cent's G-Unit Records.

However, Lamont insists rumours of his label status are unfounded - and blames gossip-hungry detractors for spreading the fake news.

In a video posted online on Sunday (05-Apr-09), he says, "Last time I checked, I'm still on Aftermath - that's news to me.

"This isn't the first time this has happened. N**gas are gonna do what they gotta do to get attention. Yes, I'm still on Aftermath. I'm the last dude on Aftermath so it's an honour and a tribute.

"I ain't (sic) looking at it (rumours of his firing) like a negative, (but) I just hate when people try to pull out rumours and shit."

Addressing the G-Unit claims, Lamont adds, "I'm already down with 50. That's already family."
