Tomorrowland: A World Beyond

Tomorrowland: A World Beyond is the latest live action offering from Disney and sees Brad Bird back in the director's chair for the first time since Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

The movie, which sees George Clooney back in a lead role, take over $32 million in its opening weekend on release to topple Pitch Perfect 2 from the number one spot.

Pitch Perfect 2 continues to perform well at the global box office and dropped just a single place this week to number two. Mad Max: Fury Road was also a single place faller, as it dropped from two to three this week.

Horror remake Poltergeist was the second and final new entry inside the top ten this week as it opened at number four. The movie is a remake of the 1982 classic and sees Gil Kenan in the director's chair, while Sam Raimi is on producing duties.

Avengers: Age of Ultron has broken through the $1 billion barrier worldwide, but slipped two places from three to five this week. The movie remains the second highest grossing movie of 2015 so far behind Fast & Furious 7.

Hot Pursuit was down two places at six, while Far From The Madding Crowd was the only movie on the up this week. The adaptation of the Thomas Hardy novel jumped three places from ten to number seven.

Fast & Furious 7 was down two at eight, while Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 was this week's biggest faller as it dropped four places from five to nine.

Home was also down this week as it dropped from number seven to round off the top ten.
