There's just a day to go until the release of High-Rise and is marks the return of actor Tom Hiddleston to the big screen and Bean Wheatley to the director's chair.

High-Rise

High-Rise

This is the first feature film for Wheatley since A Field In England and sees him team up with Hiddleston for the first time. And it is the British actor who takes centre stage in this great new poster for the film.

Hiddleston has been whipping up a storm on our TV screens in recent weeks with series The Night Manager but this is the first time we have seen him on the big screen since the release of Crimson Peak last autumn - it is always great to have him back.

High-Rise is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by J.G. Ballard and Wheatley has brought regular writer Amy Jump back on board to pen the screenplay. This is one of the British films that I have been looking forward to for some time and it looks like it is not going to disappoint.

However, it is not all about Hiddleston as he is joined on the cast by Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, James Purefoy, Elisabeth Moss, and Keeley Hawes.

High-Rise is the fifth feature film for Wheatley and comes after success with Down Terrace, Kill List, Sightseers, and A Field In England. Since the release of A Field In England in 2013, we have seen Wheatley return to television to work on a couple of episodes of Doctor Who.

1975. Two miles west of London, Dr. Robert Laing moves into his new apartment seeking soulless anonymity, only to find that the building's residents have no intention of leaving him alone. Resigned to the complex social dynamics unfolding around him, Laing bites the bullet and becomes neighbourly.

As he struggles to establish his position, Laing's good manners and sanity disintegrate along with the building. The lights go out and the lifts fail but the party goes on. People are the problem. Booze is the currency. Sex is the panacea. Only much later, as he sits on his balcony eating the architect's dog, does Dr. Robert Laing finally feel at home...

High-Rise is released in cinemas tomorrow.
