Chris Columbus is set to return to the director's chair this summer for new sci-fi/action movie Pixels - a movie that I am really looking forward to.

Chris Columbus

Chris Columbus

Columbus is not stranger to the director's chair or big movies with the likes of Home Alone, Mrs Doubtfire, and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone under his belt during his career.

However, Pixels is set to be the first film for the director since Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief back in 2010... I don't know about you, but I am very exciting to see him back.

This brand new featurette sees Chris talking about the film, the special effects and see him on set and working with the fantastic cast:

We have already been treated to a whole of great casts this summer and Pixels is a movie that is not going to disappoint when it comes to the line-up.

Adam Sandler is set to take on the central role of Sam Brenner and is joined by Peter Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan, Ashley Benson, Kevin James, Josh Gad, and Brian Cox.

As kids in the 1980s, Sam Brenner (Sandler), Will Cooper (James), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Gad), and Eddie 'The Fire Blaster' Plant (Dinklage) saved the world thousands of times - at 25 cents a game in the video arcades. Now, they're going to have to do it for real.

In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, using the video games as the models for their assaults - and now - U.S. President Cooper must call on his old-school arcade friends to save the world from being destroyed by PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, and Space Invaders. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.

Pixels is released 12th August.
