Marvel have become famed for posting a couple of great extra scenes during and at the end of the credits... sadly, Whedon believes that he wouldn't be able to top the shawarma moment at the end of Avengers Assemble.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the director said: "We all came at it separately - we don't want to chase that. That was a jewel and a weird little quirk.

"There is nothing at the very end. And that's not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don't sit there for 10 minutes and then go: 'Son of a bitch! I'll kill them!'"

However, Kevin Feige has confirmed that there will be a short scene just after the credits have started. So don't stick around right until the end of the credits as you are going to be left disappointed.

Whedon reveals that they did try to come up with something to fit at the end of the film's credits but nothing fit as well as at the end of Avengers Assemble.

He continued: "It didn't seem to lend itself in the same way, and we wanted to be true to what felt right. The first rule of making a sequel is take the best moments and do something else.

"Don't do the Indiana Jones gun trick again differently. Just go somewhere else. Don't try to hit the same highs, because people will sense it."

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the second Marvel film for Whedon and his first since the billion dollar success of Avengers Assemble back in 2012.

Age of Ultron is poised to be one of the biggest movies of 2015, as Whedon and the cast have teased that this latest instalment will be darker and more on a global scale than the first.

Whedon has also penned the screenplay as well as being in the director's chair and reunites with Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is released 23rd April.
