Joss Whedon says he has a different mindset for Avengers 2 than when he made the first film.
Whedon will be back in the director's chair for Avengers 2 - which is already one of the most highly anticipated movies; and it is not hitting the big screen until 2015.
Whedon is working on the screenplay for the film and he says that he has a clear vision on what it is that he wanted to accomplish.
Speaking to Screenrant the director said: "I enter upon Avengers 2 with a different mindset than I did the first one.
"I feel like I know so well what it is that I want to accomplish, and like ‘Much Ado,’ I now have a real sense of the troop I’m working with and the strictures and the opportunities.
"My little passion, sidebar project comes out May 1st, 2015."
Whedon's 'little passion, sidebar project' will begin filming at the beginning of next year - however an official cast list has not yet been announced.
We do know that Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch are two of the new characters with the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Saoirse Ronan being linked with those roles.
There may have been some questions over Robert Downey Jr's future as Iron Man but last week Whedon revealed that he had no intention of making Avengers 2 without the Oscar nominated actor.
Avengers 2 is released 1st May 2015.
