Hitman: Agent 47

Rupert Friend has been making a name for himself in both television and film in recent years and he is set to take over the title role - this is the biggest film of his career to date.

We have seen the British actor star in the likes of Pride & Prejudice, The Young Victoria, and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas but he is currently best known for his role as Peter Quinn in TV series Homeland.

And you can see Friend in action in this brand new TV spot for the upcoming film:

A great cast has been assembled for the film, as Friend is joined by Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, Ciaran Hinds, Thomas Kretschmann, and Emilio Rivera, while Aleksander Bach is in the director's chair.

Bach is just one of the director's chair making his feature film directorial debut this year and I am looking forward to seeing what his does with this character in this new film. This is the second time that Hitman has been brought to the big screen; the popular computer game character was given the big screen treatment for the first time back in 2007.

Hitman: Agent 47 centres on an elite assassin (Friend) who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research - and forty-six earlier Agent clones -- endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence.

His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47's past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.

Hitman: Agent 47 is released 27th August
