Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 has topped the UK box office.

The sequel comes four years after we were introduced to the character of Flint Lockwood for the first time, and now he is enjoying more box office success.

The movie took over £3.6 million in it's opening weekend to topple Turbo and hold off the challenge from Captain Phillips.

There was no move for Captain Phillips this week as it comfortably held onto second spot.

The movie took a further £2.4 million and has made over £7.9 million in just eleven days.

Jackass: Bad Grandpa was new at three while Turbo fell three place to this week's number four.

Ender's Game perhaps didn't perform as well as may have been expected as it was a new entry at number five. The film brings together a great cast that includes Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley.

One Chance was the fourth and final new entry inside the top ten this week as it opened at number six. The movie tells the story of Paul Potts, with James Corden taking on the lead role.

Escape Plan and Prisoners were down four places this week at seven and eight, while there was also a four place fall from Sunshine on Leith and Blue Jasmine at nine and ten.
