Child 44

Check out the brand new Soviet style propaganda poster for Child 44, which has been released by Summit Entertainment.

Child 44 will see Daniel Espinosa return to the director's chair later this year to bring the adaptation of the Tom Rob Smith novel of the same name to the big screen.

This striking piece of artwork is in keeping with the Russian setting and ideas that this story explores - it really is a terrific film poster.

Child 44 is a movie that I have been looking forward to for some time as it sees Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Charles Dance, Jason Clarke, and Vincent Cassel all star.

We are huge fans of Hardy here at FemaleFirst, and this is his first big screen outing since The Drop last autumn. However, Child 44 is one of a series of film projects that we are going to be seeing him in this year - he has also finished work on London Road, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Legend.

A politically-charged serial killer thriller set in 1953 Soviet Russia, Child 44 chronicles the crisis of conscience for secret police agent Leo Demidov (Hardy), who loses status, power and home when he refuses to denounce his own wife, Raisa (Rapace), as a traitor.

Exiled from Moscow to a grim provincial outpost, Leo and Raisa join forces with General Mikhail Nesterov (Oldman) to track down a serial killer who preys on young boys.

Their quest for justice threatens a system-wide cover-up enforced by Leo's psychopathic rival Vasili [Joel Kinnaman], who insists 'There is no crime in Paradise.'

Child 44 is released 17th April.
