Channing Tatum reveals that he and Jamie Foxx got along right from the start of White House Down.

The pair are set to star together for the first time in the new action blockbuster from director Roland Emmerich.

Foxx is set to play the President of the United States in the film while Tatum is the Capitol policeman that protects him when the White House is attacked.

And Tatum went on to heap praise on his co-star saying that he learnt a lot from Foxx during their time on set.

Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actor said: "Jamie and I got along from jump. Oddly enough we had met for the first time before shooting at this function thing for Sony, whatever thing that they have, I don't understand exactly, but it's awesome so I'm just like, 'Yeah, I'm going'."

"The man can literally do anything. There's a piano in one of the hallways that leads to the residence in the White House, and in between takes he's just over there playing jazz and you're just like, 'S**t!'

"Then he stands up and he's Jamie Foxx, kid from Texas, you know, from maybe not the highest class part of town, he's one of the boys.

"Then you get him into the scene and he's the President. It's incredible to watch him and he's such a good guy. I learnt a lot from him as far as even how to just be in this industry. It's cool, I love him to death."

Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke and Richard Jenkins make up the cast list of what is set to be one of the most explosive movies of the autumn.

White House Down is released 6th September.
