Andrea Riseborough

Andrea Riseborough says that she loved working with Tom Cruise on Oblivion because he was excited to go to work every morning.

Oblivion is set to kick off the blockbuster summer and sees Riseborough and Cruise work together for the very first time.

And the British actress likened the Hollywood superstar to Peter Hall because of the enthusiasm that he had about his work.

Speaking to Digital Spy the actress said: "He is such a wonderful man, and he's so dedicated and enthusiastic about work every morning, he's so excited to get started.

"He's like Peter Hall in the morning - I have never seen anyone in the morning look excited about Shakespeare! And I saw a lot of similarities between [him and Cruise].

"He's so dedicated, tirelessly mining for the truth, and he really wanted our relationship to ring true, for it to have a reality that we can all identify with."

Oblivion marks the return to the director's chair for Joe Kosinski for the first time since Tron:Legacy as he has adapted his own comic book for the big screen.

A great cast has been assembled for the film as Cruise and Riseborough are joined by Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Olga Kurylenko.

Oblivion is just one of a few projects that we are going to be seeing Riseborough in this year as she is set to star in Welcome To The Punch and Hidden.

The actress is also in the running for the Bafta Rising Star Award at this weekend's event.

Oblivion is released 12th April.
