Alfonso Cuarón

Alfonso Cuarón has revealed that he wanted to shoot new film Gravity showing zero gravity.

The actor is back in the director's chair for the most talked about science fiction movie of the year as he teams up with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.

And while the director is happy with the results he says it was a real learning curve for him.

Speaking to USA Today the actor said: "We wanted to shoot the whole film showing zero gravity with the actors moving in a choreographic way.

"This has never been done before. It was a journey of learning. But it looks pretty darn good."

The movie will premiere at the Venice Film Festival later this year and is already being tipped as a possible awards contender.

Gravity follows two astronauts left floating in space when a routine spacewalk goes wrong.

This is the first feature film for Cuarón since the fantastic Children of Men back in 2006.

Gravity is released 18th October.
