A Royal Night Out is one of the British movies that you shouldn't miss this May and a brand new TV spot for the film has been unveiled.

A Royal Night Out see Julian Jarrold return to the director's chair to tell the tale of Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret being allowed out of the palace to celebrate VE Day in 1945 - which is based on true events.

Jarrold has been behind movie such as Becoming Jane and Kinky Boots during his career, but this is his first feature film since his adaptation of Brideshead Revisited back in 2008.

This British comedy is one not to miss this May if you are a fan of the genre and here is the new TV spot to check out:

Sarah Gadon and Bel Powley team up for the first time to play Elizabeth and Margaret, while Emily Watson, Rupert Everett, Jack Reynor, and Roger Allam make up an exciting and super talented cast list.

VE Day, 1945. Across Europe, people are celebrating the end of the war. London overflows with celebration and excess. Two teenage princesses are allowed out that night to join the party. For the first time they are able to mingle with the teeming crowds, incognito.

Our two teenagers are Margaret (Powley) and the future Queen of England, Elizabeth (Gadon). Home is Buckingham Palace. Inspired by true events, A Royal Night Out is a heart-warming and riotous tale of the Queen witnessing the energy and spirit on this unique night.

A Royal Night Out is released 15th May.
