Jeff Bridges has revealed that he is excited by the Oscar buzz surrounding his performance in his latest movie Crazy Heart.
Starring alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal the actor takes on the role of Bad Blake, who is a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who's had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times.
And yet, Bad can’t help but reach for salvation with the help of Jean, a journalist who discovers the real man behind the musician
In an interview with Empire magazine the actor said: "I'm really excited about it. It's really terrific to be acknowledged by people who do what you do.
"These awards are important to get the movie out there, especially when a lot of good movies hit the festivals and then go straight to DVD."
The actor has already been nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Independent Spirit Awards and the Satellite Awards.
It’s been a busy couple of years for the actor with appearances in Iron Man, How To Lose Friends And Alienate People and the men Who Stare At Goats.
And that looks set to continue with a return to Tron and possibly The Given on the horizon.
