Bradley Cooper has described The Hangover II as the hardest shoot of his career.

The actor returns to the role of Phil later this month - alongside Ed Helms, Justin Bartha and Zach Galifianakis.

The movie one of the most anticipated films of the summer: a huge difference to two years ago when The Hangover swept in under the radar.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Cooper said: "It was the hardest shoot I've ever done for sure. Nothing ever even came close to it."

The Hangover grossed over $467 million in the summer of 2009 as it won over critics as well as audiences to become the best comedy movie of the year.

Todd Phillips is back in the director's chair for the sequel while Ken Jeong and Jeffrey Tambor are also back on the cast list.

2011 has already been a great year for Cooper topping the box office with Limitless - which saw him work alongside Robert De Niro.

And the actor has a whole host of projects in the pipeline including Paradise Lost, The World as well as being linked to a remake of The Crow.

The Hangover Part II is released 26th May.
