Renee Zellweger's sheer dress disaster at the Golden Globes
In theory, celebrities plus the latest fashion trends, a team of stylists and a professional hair and make-up team should be a match made in heaven.
In reality, however some catwalk creations should never be allowed near celebs, as some form of false confidence makes them believe they can pull something off, which quite honestly didn't look all that good on the original model in the first place!
Jessica Alba is a prime example of this and as much as we love her and her style, her recent outing in what looked like Pyjamas is just wrong for an awards ceremony.
Yes, they were originally created for the catwalk by Dolce & Gabbana, but in all honesty we weren't big fans of the look, and to hear that PJ fashion may stick around for the year makes us want to weep.
To be fair though, we can't lay all the blame firmly with these aspiring fashionistas, as the designers did create the look in the first place, but some trends are just for the catwalk and are not to be replicated.
That said, some trends which are big for the upcoming year have already been given a test drive by celebs, with disastrous consequences. So sit back and watch in horror as your fave celebs get the look oh-so wrong...
Sheer... As Worn By Renee Zellweger
Sheer is a massive look for SS09, but apparently no-one told Renee that her dress appeared to be on back to front. She did have a white panel underneath her black dress to prevent us from seeing her boobs, but that combined with some scary bouffant hair has almost killed the trend for us.
Feathers... As Worn By Madonna
We have already mentioned this fashion disaster once or twice, but honestly it just looks horrific on Madge, who is usually such a trendsetter. Generally feathers on clothing are to be approached with caution anyway, but when its bright green and resembles a yeti you should know you're onto a loser.
Metallics... As Worn By Jennifer Lopez
Both gold and silver will be massive this year, and there seemed to be a massive influx of metallics at the Golden Globes on Sunday. While J-Lo actually managed to appear on the best dressed list for her gold creation, we have to disagree. Her hips look huge, the plunging neckline is, dare we say it, a little tacky and she also appears to look quite short. Other than that, J-Lo, you rock!
