Are the Geldof sisters stylish?

Pixie Geldof, Agyness Deyn and Cheryl Cole, are the hot names on everybody's lips in the fashion world at the moment, but why exactly?

Cheryl has just topped yet another best dressed list, Agyness' moves on the catwalk were the most eagerly anticipated throughout New York and London Fashion Week and Pixie is fast making a name for herself both as a model and fashionista.

All have been hailed style icons in their own way, but is that because someone has told us they are fashionable, or we've just looked at them and made up our own minds?

Style icons are arguably made by the industry and promoted by the media, and we tend to just buy it. It's a lot like the catwalk trends, which in many ways are un wearable yet still referred to stylish and chic.

Cheryl hasn't always been the style queen she is today, oh no. In fact, before she became one of the nation's sweethearts, she was the biggest chav going in terms of her fashion sense.

Once known more for her dodgy hair colour and temper, Cheryl's transformation has been startling and with Vogue now having given her the seal of approval, she is arguably a worthy holder of the style icon tag.

She doesn't tend to go too 'out there' with her fashion, preferring to wear the latest designer togs, but not in an unusual way- so can she really be proclaimed as fashion forward when she doesn't take any risks?

One person who arguably does take some risks is fashion's darling of the runway, Agyness Deyn. Ever since she first appeared on our style radar, she has been known for her quirky tastes, which nobody else could get away with.

Sometimes she can look like a bag lady in our opinion, but in other people's eyes this girl can do no wrong. In fact, if she threw on a bin liner, you know that would be championed as the latest trend, hot off Agyness' back.

It's madness really when you think about it, as the Geldof sisters like to experiment with fashion in a variety of ways, ranging from a big bird coat, to flower hats and stockings.

They have been hailed as the 'new faces of fashion' if you like, the cool kids of London, rocking punk style and trying to look rebellious. Of course, the truth is all of this has been done before, so really all they are is copycats.

Something which really tickled us this morning however, is the news that Pamela Anderson is now being hailed as a style icon, thanks to her appearance for Vivienne Westwood in Paris.

Now this is something we wholeheartedly support, as Pammie is a boob flashing normal woman, who is suddenly been celebrated for her style and personality.

The fashion world could do with more examples like Pammie in our view, as we're much more likely to take to them and their style because they do offer something different, yet we can relate to them so much more.
