Following the OMG news last week that Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is to launch his own fashion line, it got us thinking about some other odd choices of celebrities who have shocked us with a clothing line.

Lady Gaga for example is all set to launch her fashion line later on this year, and is reportedly working on it with Akon no less. Now, we're not poking holes in this plan, but what exactly will her range exist of other than granny pants and plenty of PVC?

We love her style, don't get us wrong but at the same time her fashion is unique to her, and for copycats to go around parading in their knickers is just going to make them look utterly stupid, not to mention being arrested for indecent exposure!

No, as much as we love the GaGa, we can't see this range being a roaring success, unless she pulls something truly spectacular out of the bag and we'll be watching to see if she does, make no mistake.

Although it's not really that much of a surprise to hear that she is dabbling in the world of fashion, the news that David Hasslehoff  launched his own clothing line a few years ago is pretty hard to take.

He apparently launched a surf wear range under the label of Malibu Dave back in 2006, after coming to the realisation he was more popular than Elivs. Yes, really.

While we love the Hoff, he's not the most stylish man ever and perhaps his T-shirts will become a cult classic in years to come, but at the minute we're not feeling his look.

The car crash that is Amy Winehouse was also rumoured to be launching her own hair and make-up line last February, but thankfully thanks to her meltdown we have yet to see the result of this.

Why would we want a fashion range of string vests, hotpants and chav earrings? Honestly, she should focus on getting back to her talented best and leave the fashion world well alone.

Avril Lavigne may not be that odd a choice to launch a clothing line, but we still associate her with that angsty teenager that was all about scowling and swearing, rather than looking good.

She did though to be fair, have a unique style all of her own and rocked cropped trousers, vest tops and ties to perfection. Her clothing line pretty much reflects this though, and is perfect for the grungy teen.

And then there is Pete, or Peter as he know likes to go by, Doherty. Perhaps all those years of being with Kate Moss has rubbed off on the musical star and he now believes he's qualified to launch a fashion range.

That's the most laughable news of the day in our eyes, as the guy can barely stumble through interviews and perform on stage, not to mention constantly looking like he needs a wash.

The day he launches a fashion line and people actually buy it, is the day that the world has officially gone mad.
