Catherine Zeta Jones

Catherine Zeta Jones

Catherine Zeta Jones is just like a modern day Audrey Hepburn, except she's Welsh and has much fuller and curvier figure. But still, she has the likeability, is stunningly beautiful and has the ability to dazzle in her film roles.

She's become something of a national treasure since she married into Hollywood Royalty and her film and personal life always makes the headlines. The most recent example is of course when Catherine appeared in public looking, shock horror, less than perfect.

Her face was blotchy and caked with bronzer and she had some spots on show, a far cry from the perfectly airbrushed shots we see of her in magazines or adverts. But you know what? I think that made us love her all the more, because it made us all breathe a sigh of relief that even one of the world's most beautiful stars have an off day.

We take a look back at Catherine's fashion and style over the years, through some of her film choices...

The Mask Of Zorro

Catherine's big break came in this film, even though she was already a star in the UK, this film put her in the big league in Hollywood. Starring opposite the gorgeous Antonio Banderas, Catherine worked the corset and dazzling senorita look very well in this film. In fact she looks pretty Spanish in her role as Elena Montero, proving that the girl can act and look good.

Intolerable Cruelty

She got to star with the gorgeous George Clooney in this odd romantic comedy, but that's probably the best thing about it. Catherine plays a gold digger in this movie, with very tacky clothes and dodgy hair streaks. She still looks stunning though, but that's just her natural beauty shining through. Sigh.

Chicago

This is one of our favourite Catherine films by far. The bob cut, the flapper fashion and the smokey eyes all made Catherine look like a megastar in this 2002 hit. She even stole Renee's thunder somewhat, by belting out some hit songs, including 'All that Jazz' and 'He had it comin'' A Total Classic.

Oceans 12

The film may have been a bit of a stinker, but Catherine did get to snog Brad Pitt and that can only be a good thing. We quite like the bob cut on Cath, but her flowing locks suit her best, and all those boring work shirts? No no no, you're a welsh starlet Catherine- go for glitz and glamour!

The Legend of Zorro

Reprising the role which propelled her to superstardom, Catherine made her second outing as Elena Montero pretty memorable, having not aged a bit since the original in 1998. Catherine is still working that corset to perfection and is still probably every man's fantasy.

Death Defying Acts

Catherine appears here as Houdini's love interest, Mary McGarvie, a Scottish psychic who sets out to trap the magician. She looks very chic and polished in this film, with a stylish up-do and simple make-up. Back to her beautiful best here we think, despite the film being pretty much panned in the UK. Better luck next time Catherine...
