Michelle Obama's inaugural outfits gained great praise from corners of the fashion world including style icon Sarah Jessica Parker but not everyone is happy with her fashion choices. The Black Artists Association is upset that Michelle did not wear something by an African American designer, WWD reports.

The new First Lady choose a white one shoulder dress by Jason Wu for the evening celebration and a gold dress and coat by Isabel Toledo for the inauguration but her choices have caused some upset.

Cofounder of the Black Artists Association, and former YSL model, Amnau Eele said that she will make an appeal to the First Lady's office on behalf of the BAA.

She told WWD: "It’s fine and good if you want to be all ‘Kumbaya’ and ‘We Are the World’ by representing all different countries. But if you are going to have Isabel Toledo do the inauguration dress, and Jason Wu do the evening gown, why not have Kevan Hall, B Michael, Stephen Burrows or any of the other black designers do something too?"

When asked if Obama may be looking at the world colourlessly Eele replied: "It’s one thing to look at the world without colour but she had seven slots to wear designer clothes. Why wasn't she wearing the clothes of a black designer? That was our moment."
