Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga actively courts controversy, but now she’s in trouble for a reason she really never expected.

The attention grabbing Gaga has certainly caused a stir recently, appearing half-naked at a baseball game, attending her younger syblings graduation in see-through pants, called blasphemous by Katy Perry and finally labelled a a copy cat by her idol, Grace Jones.

Now, the Poker Face singer is under fire from doctors and parents concerned about her latest fashion statement.

In the video for her recent hit "Bad Romance" Lady Gaga appears onscreen with over-sized eyes that make her resemble a wide-eyed anime character.

Fans eager to copy the look are turning to the Internet to score cheap contact lenses to recreate the effect. The lenses are the same as standard coloured contacts, but have a larger circle of colour that covers some of the whites of the eye, giving the iris a much larger appearance.

Ironically with the trend so popular a YouTube search for "Bad Romance" brings up a tutorial on Lady Gaga contacts/make-up ahead of Gaga’s own video.

The apparent problem with the lenses is that many users are buying them online without a prescription, which is illegal, and means that users are getting lenses that won’t fit properly and worryingly could cause permanentt or long term eye damage. Further as these are not regulated who knows what quality they are.

To get safe contact lenses that are properly fitted for your eyes, you must visit an optician which will be more expensive but safe!
