Katy Perry certainly has a unique style
Katy Perry leads the nominations of the worst dressed category at the Shockwaves NME 2009 Awards.
Joining Katy in this unflattering category is Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty, Brandon Flowers and Johnny Borrell. These we can understand, take Amy Winehouse for example, string vests, grubby denim shorts and blood stained ballet pumps do not make a style icon. And Pete the trilby hat was cool... about three years ago now it just makes us wonder what a mass of dirty hair you are hiding underneath it. We accept, even expect, these names on a worst dressed list but Katy's? No.
Ok the girl certainly has a unique dress sense but at least she takes care in her appearance. Her hair is always groomed and glossy, her eyes perfectly lined and her lips painted in the hippest colours.
Maybe not everyone appreciates Katy's, err original style though. After all she has spent the last few months dressed and a carousel, an American footballer and a banana. Even if she does wear a semi-normal dress it will be emblazoned with eyes over her boobs, her name or even Barack Obama's face.
We love her crazy ways though, after all events would be a lot more boring if everyone turned up in simple dresses and Katy's fashion always livens things up and adds fun to formalities.
Besides, we've seen Katy in toned down outfits and the girl looks pretty damn stylish. Wino and Doherty have got nothing on her!
