We've often wondered what's going on in Katy Perry's head when she steps out dressed as a cake or a banana, and now thankfully the singer has shed some light on her crazy outfits.
She rocked up at People's Music Lounge to celebrate her new 'Waking Up in Vegas' video, and showed off her signature style in a flapper dress, which paid homage to Sin City.
Katy revealed to People about her attire for the night, and her wild-child fashion reputation commenting:"Usually I’m trying to look like a party."
That certainly is the case with some of the outfits she has donned in the past, and she has OTT label, The Blonds to thank for that.
"They’re larger than life," she says of Phillipe and David Blond, the design duo who created the fabulous Hello Kitty corset and Grammy’s fruit dress. "I love that they have no limits!"
Someone else who has no limits is Katy herself, as for her latest video she has glammed it up with some colourful and vibrant costumes, courtesy of designing legend, Bob Mackie.
"He picked out my clothes for ‘Waking Up in Vegas’ . . . I’m very happy about that!" she says to People.
"Bob Mackie designed some of Cher’s most amazing costumes- I really want to see her show in Vegas now."
Well, Cher is the original diva and it looks as though Katy is going the same way, as she plans to wear a different outfit every night while on tour, and then give her castoffs to her friends.
She did confess however, "I’m running out of options now. I don’t ever want to wear just jeans and tee shirts. I like to have fun with fashion."
