Is Rosie Huntington Whiteley the new face of fashion?

Kate Moss and Agyness Deyn are old news these days when it comes to the world of fashion. Everyone is looking for the new face to follow and copy, so who are the contenders for this year?

Well, there's Model Of The Year Jourdan Dunn, who despite being signed up to do several high-profile campaigns and walking in London Fashion Week recently, has failed to commercialise herself so far this season.

She's known for being a model and little else, and we're willing to bet that most of you are yet to hear of her at all. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is another well known face within the industry and, along with Jourdan was one of our Ones To Watch For 2009.

Despite landing campaigns for Karen Millen, Agent Provocateur and D&G underwear in the past few months, she again has the problem of not being as well known socially, as many of the other 'It Girls' of London.

The problem these days with models on the runway is that for people outside the industry to recognise them and sign them up for high-street campaigns, they have to be willing to put themselves out there a bit.

Five years ago we'd never heard of Agyness Deyn and now she's one of the most famous supermodels in the world. Why though? what made her different to all the other skeletons strutting down the runway?

Well, that's just it. She has a personality, she had a punkish blonde hairstyle and she had a loud Northern accent. She ruffled a few feathers in a good way and we couldn't get enough of her.

Now, though like so many other things in life, we're searching for the next big thing to follow. We could argue that the fashionable trio of Alice Dellal, Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe are the likely candidates to satisfy our need, but are they catwalk models, or simply famous faces who got lucky?

It's probably a mixture of the two, as they are the faces to watch at the moment, after dominating London Fashion Week a fortnight ago. While Daisy and Pixie have since landed themselves a number of lucrative ad campaigns too.

Pringle of Scotland, Agent Provocateur, Diesel and Marc by Marc Jacobs are just some of the fashion campaigns landed between the duo, and everybody is well aware of their presence in the industry.

By contrast however, while Pixie's career soars, her sister Peaches' seems to be at a standstill. After modelling for PPQ and Agent Provocateur in the past, this season she's been remarkably quiet on the fashion scene.

Friend to both Peaches and Pixie is the lovely Jaime Winstone, who aside from popping up on the front row of shows, has also taken to the catwalk for Vivienne Westwood in the past too.

However, the hot name on everybody's lips in the industry at the minute is a 16-year-old student from Estonia. Katlin Aas opened the Prada show in Milan last week, sparking huge buzz as to why she had been given that coveted spot.

It soon emerged that she had already opened for Christopher Kane, and walked for Jaeger London, Giles and Topshop Unique too, not bad for someone in their first season of modelling aye?
