Katy Perry at last night's Brit Awards

Some celebrities will inevitably get it wrong on the red carpet, and last night the fashion police were out in force to nab those naughty offenders at The Brit Awards.

While Kylie, Girls Aloud and Duffy all looked sensational in their style choices, a few ladies got it spectacularly wrong with their outfits, resulting in some of the worst fashion we've ever seen.

Serial style offender Katy Perry looked like she was trying to replicate a punk rocker, which didn't quite come off like she'd hoped.

Wearing too tight black leggings, a Hello Kitty corset top (yes, you heard right) and heels, Katy looked quite strange to say the least, and we've been a such a fan of hers in the past too...

We're not mad keen on her new hair cut either, as at best she looks like a bowl has been placed over her head and someone got snip happy, and at worst...well, she looks a tad like a drag queen.

Her make-up didn't really help her cause either as bubblegum pink lips and matching eyes is never really a good look, and put on Katy she looked like an 80s reject.

Now we do give her some credit for the heavily customised Hello Kitty corset made by The Blondes, but really it was just a tad weird, and not red carpet worthy in our opinion.

The event itself isn't necessarily a ball gown event, but that doesn't mean you can turn up in a manky old coat and cowboy boots KT Tunstal!

We were shocked at her horrendous offering when she arrived, it looked as though she had made no effort whatsoever.

With lank hair, a plain black dress and no glam factor at all, her 'just rolled out of bed 'look was spot on and no, that's by no means a compliment.

Her tribal necklace was a bit of a saving grace, unfortunately it was just swamped in with the rest of her look, when it should have been the statement piece.

We weren't fans of her new fringe too, which seems to have been cut several inches too high, and some stupid person has managed to spill some blonde in it. Improvements all round for next year please Ms. Tunstal!

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke also let the side down with her 80s electric blue dress, with some bizarre tribal accessories.

While she was bang on with her colour choice, the cut and style of the dress made her look a lot heavier that she was and consequently she looked uncomfortable all night.

The satin panelling on the front of the dress was clingy and unflattering, while her hooped earrings were a touchy chavvy.

Considering her mentor, Cheryl Cole and the rest of Girls aloud put on a spectacular show in oyster and coral coloured dresses, we have to say that Alexandra has a long was to go before she achieves the style success of Cheryl.

Other shout outs must go to Pixie Geldof and her horrendous white sheet draped top and Amanda Holden with her strange purple slippers.

They made us laugh and gasp out in horror, but unfortunately they weren't bad enough to end up here. Consider it a lucky escape girls!
