Kids In Glass Houses are coming into their own after landing some of the most sought-after support slots in music history. I mean, come on, if I could be on tour with anyone, it would have to be them!
I caught up with the foxiest lead singer in the world, Aled Phillips to find out just how it feels to be in the hottest band from Wales at the moment.
How are you enjoying being on tour?
Awesome, we’ve just arrived at the first venue and we’re just about to sound check. We’re really excited, it’s going to be so good.
So you’ve had some great support slots in the past, what has been your favourite?
I think so far it would have to be the Paramore tour, I’m sure this one will take over pretty soon!
Do you ever get star struck?
Not so much star struck, it’s just a bit surreal that people aren’t the massive superstars you would expect; they’re just normal people and they treat you like normal people too. It’s weird that they treat you like an equal.
So how did the tour with Fall Out Boy come about in the first place?
I think it was just our agent who dropped us a message and asked if we were up for it. Obviously we were like; “Yeah! That would be amazing!”
If you could support any band in the whole world, who would it be?
The Police probably.
So tell us a bit about the inspiration behind your foxy new record Dance All Night…
It’s just your basic rock song I guess! We wanted to make a fun song for the album.
Tell me in five words why people should spend their money on your music..
Because we’re nice boys really!
So this is the fifth single to be taken from your album, will you be working on a new one soon?
Yeah, we’ve been working on it since we got off tour in September and we’re hoping (fingers crossed) to start recording in May and get something out in August hopefully.
Woo hoo! So, to anyone who hasn’t heard of you yet, how would you describe your sound?
Catchy pop rock tunes!
What three bands would you have to headline your dream festival?
It would have to be The Police, Prince and probably Michael Jackson.

What has been your favourite musical memory to date?
I think for us as a band it was doing Reading festival last year because it was such a big place and so many people were watching and we didn’t expect anyone to come and it was completely insane!
If you could cover any song, which would it be?
We’ve done quite a few covers in time, we’ve done Thriller by Michael Jackson before, we did it for Halloween and dressed up. It was probably our best cover so we should probably do that again!
If all of the bands stuff was on fire, what piece would you save?
I wouldn’t bother saving any of it, it’s not mine! I’d probably save a guitar and just swipe it for myself.
Okay, now we want to ask you some random questions; Tell me about the most terrifying experience of your life…
I think when I was about little someone pushed me into the reptile house in the zoo and I’m terrified of snakes and I banged into the snake thing and it was pretty horrendous for me.
God, kids are so mean!
I’m glad I’m out of there!
What’s the most stupid purchase you’ve ever made?
Oh, there have been many! I bought some silver shoes once [FF: oh no, why did you do that?] I don’t even think I’ve worn them.
Oh well, we learn from our mistakes, so, can you tell me, why do we go to the top of a tall building, only to put money in binoculars and look at things on the ground?
Because we’re stupid and we have nothing better to do!
