Travis Barker has vowed to be with Mark Hoppus "every step of the way" during his cancer battle.
The 45-year-old musician has sent his support to his Blink-182 bandmate, after Mark, 49, revealed he has been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer for the past three months.
Travis told E! News: "Mark is my brother and I love and support him.
"I will be with him every step of the way on stage and off and can't wait for us to play together again soon."
The drummer also took to his Instagram Stories to share a throwback picture of him giving Mark a kiss on the cheek, and he added the caption: "Love you @markhoppus"
TV host Carson Daly has also sent his support to Mark - who he got to know when he was a video jockey on MTV's 'Total Request Live' - admitting the singer is "one of the best people I’ve met in the business".
He wrote on Instagram: "I’m thinking & praying for my friend @markhoppus from @blink182 who announced he’s fighting cancer. We may not speak everyday, but I hold in my heart such incredible memories of a time long ago, when we shared a stage & a mic doing what we both loved so much. I’ve always been such a fan. You’re one of the best people I’ve met in the business & know you will kick the s*** out of this & be back rocking in no time. I’m here, we’re all here, right with you on this fight. Stay positive & you’ll beat this thing with the same ease that you Tom & Trav had when you ran naked around the MTV studios back in the day. Love you bro. You got this. #F***Cancer (sic)"
Mark revealed on Wednesday (23.06.21) he is battling cancer, but he didn't specify which type of the disease he has been diagnosed with.
In a statement released via Twitter, he wrote: "For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.
“I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all."
Last month, Mark told fans he had recorded some new material for Blink-182, who are completed by Matt Skiba.
He said: "I recorded literally yesterday.
"So upcoming recording is happening as we speak. It was new Blink, not Simple Creatures or anything else."
