Kieran Hayler has to “parent from both sides” because his ex-wife Katie Price isn’t a strict mother.

The 33-year-old hunk is currently expecting a baby with his fiancée Michelle Penticost – who already has 10-year-old Valentino from a previous relationship – and the couple expect him to take a tougher stance with their child because he’s already harder on Jett, seven, and six-year-old Bunny, who he has with the former glamour model.

He said: I don’t want to give myself a big head, but I think I pretty much smash being a good dad. We live for our children.”

And after Michelle said he was the stricter of the two, he said: “OK, I am quite strict. But that’s because I have to parent from both sides.

“Kate has made it very public that she’s not the strict one, whereas me and Peter [Andre] are.”

Michelle added: “I wouldn’t say you were strict, you just have boundaries.”

Kieran agreed: “And if they push those boundaries, there are consequences. They have their iPad or favourite toy taken away. I think Pete and I are similar in that way.”

And Kieran admitted Katie – who also has Harvey, 18, with Dwight Yorke and Junior 15, and Princess, 13, with Peter Andre – and her partner Carl Woods’ recent move to Essex has made things tough for their children, who they share equal custody of.

Speaking to New! magazine, he said: “All that’s changed is Kate now lives two hours away from school in Essex.

“It’s a long trip for the kids, but it’s a decision she made and I can’t do anything about it.

“When they are with us, they’re 15 to 20 minutes away from school.

“She seems happy with Carl and that’s all we can wish for.”

Kieran worries about his kids growing up too quickly as a result of being in the public eye.

He said: “The only downfall is they grow up too quickly.

“It’s difficult to keep them as young as their age because there’s a lot going on on social media and in the press.”

Asked how he manages what they see on social media, he added: “By keeping them off it! I’m very strict about them not being allowed to watch YouTube videos at mine.”
