1. When I am not writing glam novels I work as a TV host I spend my life away from the glamour of my novels surrounded by glue, glitter, cardstock and paper as I work on a television craft channel. I love it and it means that I never want for something shiny and fabulous to play with.

2. I used to be a showbiz journalist I worked in London for many years as a showbiz journalist and spent my time travelling around interviewing all sorts of famous people. I was one of the first people to ever interview a young band called Take That, and I have grilled everyone from Britney Spears and Ant & Dec through to Boy George and Jon Bon Jovi.

3. I was the editor of the official East 17 Magazine It was called Uncensored! and my job was to write the entire magazine. It meant I had to follow the band around a lot which was not without its problems, especially chasing across Canada or Europe. Do people actually remember East 17? It seems like a million years ago now. I also used to write for the Boyzone fan club.

4. My first attempt at a novel was at school I filled one of my exercise books with a story I wrote about a man who was stranded on a desert island and had to fight for survival. Very Bear Grylls. I read it out to my entire class one Friday afternoon and they appeared to love it. I think that is where my love of writing started. I must have been about eight.

5. I am obsessed with the Eurovision Song Contest I adore it. I would love to present it. I do speak French so maybe there's a slim chance if the UK ever win it again! I have been to the actual event twice but I have been following it since a certain band called ABBA won back in the day. It's fabulous entertainment.

6. I'm a scribbler I should download some fancy computer app to help with the plotting and characterisation of my novels but I'll be honest, I never have. I scribble everything down in notebooks. I have oodles of them. I will scribble diagrams connecting people together and write random plot lines in them in the middle of the night. It works for me.

7. My characters are nearly always named after people I know The surnames especially are borrowed from friends and loved ones. I pick up inspiration from everywhere and if I meet someone whose name I like I write that down and then come back to it when I need to name somebody. In Lovers And Liars, Sutton, Heather, Hatton and Kassidy are all named after people I know.

8. I was once in a film I don't think Ryan Reynolds need worry though. I had one line playing a butler in a British film called Framed. I had to bang a gong and announce dinner. It was hardly an award-winning performance.

9. I love liver People either love it or hate it and I am definitely a liver lover. Served with bacon, mash and onion gravy. Heaven. I like offal meats in general. Kidneys are another fave. Weird? Maybe!

10. I am halfway through writing a comedy novel I adore writing the glamorous blockbusters and will keep them coming for as long as people want to read them, but I am also writing a comedy book. It's just something I have always wanted to do. I'll find the time to finish it in the near future I hope in between the thrills and drama of my blockbusters.
