Jacs Holt

Jacs Holt

For fans of 'Wentworth Prison' who haven't seen the series it's based on - 'Prisoner' - last night's episode provided a couple of shocks.

Bea Smith finally reconnected with her daughter - who's been dating the son of prison enemy Jacs Holt - but it wasn't to be all sunshine and rainbows from there on in.

With her world crumbling around her and any power she had slipping away, Jacs is desperate to do anything to ensure the women in the prison provide to her every need. Things only get worse when her husband Vinnie - the man she got sent to jail for - asks her for a divorce so he can marry his new lover.

Still in pain from an injury Frankie gave her three weeks earlier, Jacs uses prison officer and deputy governer Vera to sneak her in some drugs. This begs the question, what does she have on her that would make her do such a thing? We don't have to wait long to find out, as it's revealed Vera asked Jacs to start the fight that led to the murder of ex-governer Meg Jackson.

This wasn't the only twist and turn of the night however, as Debbie started experimenting with drugs like never before.

Being told to break-off his relationship with Debbie in a visit with Jacs, Brayden Holt tells his mother that this is the last thing he's going to do for her.

Debbie sits in her bedroom with Brayden, willingly taking a dose of drugs through a needle in her arm. This dose isn't the same as the rest though, and as Debbie overdoses and passes away, Brayden packs his things and leaves the house quietly, not calling for the help she so desperately needs.

With only two episodes left in this season, it seems like there's going to be an almighty ending for Wentworth. Will Bea snap when she hears of her daughter's demise? How will she go about getting revenge on the sadistic Jacs? Who will reign as Wentworth's top-dog when the season comes to a head?

Hopefully we'll find out sooner rather than later. 'Wentworth Prison' continues Wednesday October 23 at 10pm on Channel 5.
