Anna Maxwell Martin is hoping to bag a Coronation Street role.
The BAFTA-winning actress admires the ITV soap for their "amazing" characters, and admits she would love to be cast in the programme in the future and given an "outlandish" role.
She said: "My dream is to be in 'Corrie' when I'm older. They develop the most amazing characters in 'Corrie' - I'd love to play a character who's ridiculously outlandish."
The 36-year-old star, who is currently filming for the three-part series 'Death Comes To Pemberley', insists she doesn't have much time to watch television but has been gripped by the Hayley and Roy Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh and David Neilson) cancer storyline, which will see the factory worker lose her battle with the deadly disease in the New Year.
She explained: "It's too sad! I love Roy more than anything, I can't bear to think about him being in pain when Hayley dies. It will be horrendous!"
The blonde beauty admits she met David Neilson at a theatre once and she couldn't hold back her admiration for him
Speaking to What's On TV magazine, she said: "I saw him in the theatre once and I had to squeeze past him to get to my chair, then I said: 'Sorry, I just have to say, I absolutely love you'.
"I bet he was thinking: 'Er, who are you? You're really too close to me'."
