Continuing upon its trend to bring smaller DC Comics villains into the Arrowverse, Arrow's fourth season has already seen Double Down (JR Bourne) and Anarky (Alexander Calvert) join the fray in episodes broadcast earlier this year. Now, another villain is ready to step in, in a two-episode story arc.
Tom Amandes has joined the show as Noah Kuttler AKA Calculator, a tech genius who'll first appear in episode 12 'Unchained'. This will also be the same episode that brings Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) back to Star City, and according to TVLine, Kuttler "uses his advanced skills in computer science and internet manipulation to backmail Roy out of retirement to do his bidding".
Though there have been a couple of variations of The Calculator in the comics universe, it looks as if the version coming to Arrow will be one who uses his own abilities rather than a hero-predicting suit to challenge Team Arrow.
There's no evidence yet to suggest that The Calculator will be working for this season's main antagonist Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), as we've seen with Anarky and Double Down in the past, so it will be interesting to see just how his story ties into the greater picture.
Speculation suggests that he could be Felicity Smoak's (Emily Bett Rickards) father, after Wendy Mericle told ComicBook.com in a recent interview: "We are going to bring her father in. He will definitely be evil. He's going to be up to no good, but it's not going to be Damien."
This is only fuelled by Charlotte Ross, the actress who plays Felicity's mother Donna Smoak on the show, who's retweeted three items about the casting, including two tweets from fans naming The Calculator as Felicity's father.
Arrow returns Wednesday, December 2 on The CW and will come back to Sky1 in the UK on Wednesday, December 9.
