Stranger Things was one of the biggest success stories of 2016, gaining huge interest around the globe and quickly becoming one of the most popular Netflix original series available for viewing. Now, with a second season confirmed for Halloween, 2017, rumours and small slices of information are beginning to trickle out, hinting at what fans should expect when the new slew of episodes hit the online streaming service.
NME are this week reporting that Netflix Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos said that he has seen the season 2 premiere, and he couldn’t be happier with the episode he saw.
He said: “I have just seen the first episode of season two. It’s fantastic – it delivers on everything that every fan wants. We have a sense that it’s going to be really big.”
Sarandos’ comments follow a teaser which aired during this year’s Super Bowl, showing just how serious he and the rest of the team at Netflix are about making this one of the biggest shows of the year for the second year in a row. Usually, huge motion pictures are all we’ll see at the sporting event, so to see a television series making up part of the night’s advertisements was certainly exciting stuff.
Wherever the show goes next, it’s sure to be dark. Check out the fantastic first trailer for the second season below:
