Mike Ward wants to win 'The Voice' for his nan.
The 23-year-old finalist has been struggling after revealing he lost his grandmother to cancer last month, but he is determined to give it his all and be crowned the winner because she was his inspiration and encouraged him to enter the BBC competition.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Mike absolutely loved his nan. They were really close. She was the one who got him into country music.
"She listened to a lot of Irish music when he was younger and he found it similar to country.
"It was her as well, as well as his mum, who said he should go on The Voice."
The country singer posted a picture of his gran on Twitter after sailing through to the final last Friday (14.06.13), thanking her for being by his side in spirit during his jaw-dropping performance of 'Games People Play' by Joe South.
He wrote: "Here's proof that there are angels out there! I love you grandma and I miss you (sic)"
Leah McFall, Matt Henry and Andrea Begley will also perform in the finals next week.
