A lost follow-up series to sitcom 'Bottom' was shelved after Rik Mayall's death.

The late comedian sadly passed away in 2014 at his London home, aged 56, after suffering a heart attack following his morning jog.
And before he died, TV art director Richard Drew has revealed he was asked to design a set for a new series featuring Rik and his comedy partner Ade Edmondson's hilarious characters, Richie Richard and Eddie Hitler, when they were older.
A script was penned for the new series, with a different name, and it was due to start filming in the same year Rik passed away.
He told the 'One Foot In The' Podcast: “There was talk of doing a follow-up to 'Bottom' with Ade and Rik.
“I got the script actually. I won’t say what it was called. I was asked by Ed Bye, the director, to look at it. Sadly, it only exists as a script and a couple of sketches that was as far as we got.”
Richard was shocked to hear Rik had died as they were also set to work on another series of 'Man Down', in which the late actor played Richard Davies.
He added: “We were set to do series two of 'Man Down', and then I got a call which went, ‘I’ve got some really bad news, Rik has passed away.’”
'Bottom' originally aired on BBC Two and had three series between 1991 to 1995.
The show followed the wild antics of the flatmates with no jobs and little money and their lives in Hammersmith, West London, and was known for its use of violent slapstick comedy.
Rik's character lacked finesse and often wore a white shirt tucked into his Y-fronts.
As well as 'Bottom', Rik and Ade enjoyed a working relationship which spanned across three decades beginning in the 1980s and produced acclaimed comedy TV shows 'The Young Ones' and 'Filthy Rich & Catflap'.
