The 22-year-old actress has confirmed she'll reprise her role as home wrecker Kate Parks when the show hits screens early next year with the next installment of the gripping drama.

Asked if she'll return for series two, she told Digital Spy: "Yeah, I'm doing the second series - I'm in! Everyone thinks I'm not in it. I want to know why this is. Everyone's like, so you're not coming back?"

And Jodie is looking forward to seeing how scriptwriters will weave Kate into Doctor Foster's (Suranne Jones) life again after she was last seen fleeing the town with the medical professional's husband Simon Foster (Bertie Carvel) following their steamy three-year affair.

She explained: "They're [the bosses are] keeping it hush-hush. It's not filming 'til the end of the year - so it's confirmed that I'm going back, but everything else, I've been left in the dark. I'll be interested myself to see where the characters go."

However, Jodie has admitted she did receive a lot of abuse while playing Kate - who fell pregnant with Simon's baby - because of how their affair played out at the end.

She said: "It was crazy - especially with Kate, because she riled people up so much... I think I've been called every name under the sun. But it's so much fun. I love all that. It's good to see it's affected people - they really care about it."

The cast will rejoin in September to shoot the next installment of the popular series but, in the meantime, Jodie has just finished filming the new teen drama 'Thirteen' in which she portrays prisoner Ivy Moxam.
