Continuing to include a variety of characters from its DC Comics source material, Arrow is a series that has garnered a huge legion of loyal fans.
Now headed into its fourth season, multiple names have been connected with the batch of new episodes, including Jimmy Akingbola stepping into the role of Baron Blitzkrieg and Neal McDonough taking on the mantle of Damien Darhk.
This week it's been confirmed by The Wrap that Teen Wolf's JR Bourne is to portray villain Jeremy Tell AKA Double Down in the third episode of the new season, with Access Hollywood adding that Jeri Ryan has joined the show as Queen family friend and original character Jessica Danforth, described as someone whose "political ambitions will place her in the crosshairs of a menacing antagonist."
Double Down was first introduced to the world of DC by DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns in 2001, as a member of The Flash's Rogues gallery. Receiving his powers after being attacked by a cursed deck of cards, they become embedded within his skin appearing as tattoos, which he can manipulate to kill or incapacitate enemies.
Only confirmed so far to appear in one episode of Arrow, it's possible that Double Down is simply a one-off villain for Oliver to face, but given his association with The Flash, it wouldn't be surprising to see him crop up on that series as well at some point.
Ryan's character description seems to suggest that she'll be in some way tied in with villain Anarky (Alexander Calvert), with the pair being introduced in the fourth episode.
Arrow returns at 8pm on October 7 on The CW in the US.
