Camp Orange

Nickelodeon UK today announces the launch of brand new reality TV series - Camp Orange - as part of the channel’s summer holiday line up. The format is a first for the UK network and co-produced with Nickelodeon Australia, currently shooting the seventh series of the popular and award winning show.

The 6 X 30 minute series goes into production later this month in New South Wales at a secret rural location in the Australian Bush.

Nickelodeon UK’s presenters, Jamie Rickers and Anna Williamson, will act as Camp Directors, joining four teams of best friends competing in messy and physical challenges that test their wits and friendship. The teams have no contact with the outside world.

The show focuses on the value of teamwork, trust and fair play in line with the network’s commitment to helping kids to be happy, healthy and aware of the world around them. The much coveted prize (in addition to the overall winners) is ‘Champ Orange’ which recognises the best and fairest teams as voted each week by all four teams.

Denise Lewis, Olympic gold medallist and International Inspiration Ambassador, joins the Camp Directors as surprise guest and mentor to the group, ensuring the focus on fair play is consistently maintained.

Lewis says: "I jumped at the chance to be involved with Nickelodeon’s new series Camp Orange. The show instils a sense of fun, adventure and learning in the children taking part and the viewers at home.

"Throughout my career it has been imperative that I work well with the team around me and I hope to drive home the importance and value of teamwork, trust and fair play in every day life. I’m also excited about my return to Sydney for the first time since winning my gold medal!"

Tina McCann, managing director of Nickelodeon UK, says: "We are extremely excited to bring Australia’s award winning series to UK kids and families.

"The show has been a tremendous success and we are anticipating a fantastic response among UK audiences. Camp Orange provides kids with the fun and humour they expect from Nickelodeon but also communicates important and valuable life messages. "

McCann adds: "The production of this show perfectly demonstrates Nickelodeon’s commitment to programming on a global scale. We are privileged to be in such a strong position."

Thousands of kids from across the UK auditioned for the chance to be part of the Nickelodeon reality show, unaware they would be travelling 10,562 miles from home to Sydney, Australia.

The winning Camp Orange team will enjoy a luxury trip onboard the Norwegian Epic Nickelodeon Cruise around the Mediterranean alongside a line up of Nickelodeon’s stars.

The announcement comes as Nickelodeon Australia commences shooting the seventh season of Camp Orange - Australia’s first reality show for kids.

The UK will film one week after Australia, using a combination of UK and Australian production teams. Camp Orange has also proved popular in Italy, where there have been three successful series to date.
