The second wave of Big Brother Canada houseguests have been revealed, after one of the most thrilling and controversial seasons of Big Brother in reality television history last year.
Season two’s houseguests move in to an all-new Big Brother Canada house, outfitted with 85 cameras and over 80 microphones tracking everything from strategies to showmances. With a grand prize of $100,000, a $25,000 gift card from The Brick, and a $10,000 trip of a lifetime courtesy of Twistos at stake, houseguests compete for HOH (Head of Household) and POV (Power of Veto) to guarantee their safety in the house.
Arisa Cox will be returning to host proceedings once more and welcome fifteen new castmembers into the revamped and newly furnished Big Brother Canada house, and fourteen of those fifteen names have now been revealed.
Adel Elseri, 27 from Edmonton, Alberta
Adel describes himself in three words as 'The. People's. Champ', and the welder/inventor is inspired by Big Brother Canada originals Tom and Talla. He says he can be "aggressive" and will "strive to get" whatever he wants while in the house.
Andrew Gordon, 27 from Calgary, AB
This restaurant manager says he's "outgoing, energetic and intense", idolising Emmett from Big Brother Canada season one, as it's the only Big Brother he's ever watched. He dislikes people with "narrow-minded views" and is excited for the chance to do something "new and excited" that's "so removed from regular life".
Anick Gervais, 28 from Hanmer, ON
Confident in both her athletic and mental abilities, Anick is hoping to take home the prize money so she can start a healing centre in the bush. She hates "bullies" and "people who are judgemental", stating that those who don't think of other's feelings really get on her nerves.
Arlie Shaban, 25 from Claremont, ON
The first contestant this year to admit to being "conniving", Arlie is ready to play the game after studying every houseguest that's ever won a season of Big Brother. He says: "I'll seem trustworthy, but my word will actually mean nothing", and is excited to get in the house as he's been a superfan for his whole life.
Heather Decksheimer, 23 from Barrhead, AB
She's not a fan of mathematics, and so hopes challenges will stray away from the mental side of things. She says she can "act my way through anything without really feeling emotions", and doesn't like those who "don't shut up about one subject that they think they're very, very smart about."
Ika Wong, 29 from Montego Bay, Jamaica
This mother of two admits she'll miss her family while in the house, but it'll be a nice break from doing her chores and cooking at home. She says she'll be a "triple threat" in the challenges and has two strategies going into the house.
Jon Pardy, 23 from Clarenville, NL
Still a student, he says he's "goofy" and only really started watching Big Brother when he saw Dan Gheesling's 'funeral' on Big Brother US 14. He admits he can be untidy and is going into the competition for the experience and the hopes of winning the money.
Kenny Brain, 25 from Grand-Falls Windsor, NL
This model loves Britney from Big Brother US 12 and 14, and will miss his dog the most while in the house. He says he can "cry very easily" and wants the money to go towards paying off his student loans, citing Big Brother Canada as "the ultimate challenge".
Kyle Shore, 24 from Porter's Lake, NS
He says that the men of Big Brother Canada's first season had "way too much estrogen", and he wants to show the world that "Canada isn't just full of apologetic people". He hates fake people and says he's always hungry, weighing in at 225 lb.
Neda Kalantar, 22 from Vancouver, BC
"Blunt", though "sassy, and clumsy", Neda has a strategy to be "nice and make as many personal connections" as she possibly can, which she thinks could be a challenge as she tends to "rub people the wrong way". She doesn't like when people don't have manners, and has watched seasons of Big Brother from all over the globe.
Paul Jackson, 43 from Cape Town, South Africa
As a motivational speaker, Paul is surprisingly going into the house without a strategy, simply hoping to "bring my life skills like the ability to observe, connect, have a social game and be supportive to those that feel a bit intimidated." He dislikes "whiners" and wants to make a connection with Canada through the show.
Rachelle Diamond, 20 from Edmonton, Alberta
Hoping to be able to tone down her "loud" nature when she first enters the house, she hopes people will get to know her and realise she's "not an obnoxious person". She admits to being "very confrontational" if something bothers her, and isn't afraid to say she's in this for the money.
Sabrina Abbate, 25 from Montreal, QC
"Memory games will be hard for me" says this hair-dresser and make-up artist, and she cannot stand dirty people. She'll warn housemates not to put her on slop, because "when I'm hungry, I'm the devil", and she's dreamed of being on television for her entire life.
Sarah Miller, 32 from Osgoode, ON
Hoping to be "kind and likeable" from the moment she enters the house, she'll plan "something more structured" during her time inside. She dislikes "meanness" and those who "make fun of people for their appearance or background".
A fifteenth houseguest is to be revealed on the season premiere, Wednesday March 5 at 9pm ET/PT on Slice.
