The time has almost come for American Gods to hit the small screen; the brand new series based on Neil Gaiman’s critically-acclaimed, award-winning fantasy novel of the same name. With an all-star cast led by Ricky Whittle and also including Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Gillian Anderson, Kristin Chenoweth and an array of other big talent, 10 new character posters have now been revealed showcasing some of the Old and New Gods we’ll be meeting throughout the show. There’s a different kind of war brewing in this world, as the Old Gods and the New go up against one another in a battle for followers. While the Old Gods are rooted in mythology and the times of the past, their believers have for the most part now either died off, or become seduced by the wealth, fame and technology on offer from the New Gods.
Coming to Amazon Prime Video later this year, American Gods is produced by FremantleMedia North America, with Bryan Fuller and Michael Green serving as writers and showrunners. David Slade is working as a director, while FMNA’s Craig Cegielski and Stefanie Berk are executive producers along with Fuller, Green, Slade, Adam Kane and Neil Gaiman.
American Gods launches on Amazon Prime Video in the UK on May 1, with new episodes then airing weekly thereafter.
