Green Day performed 'Dookie' in full at Reading Festival last night (23.08.13).
The punk rock superstars were headlining the first night of the event and treated fans when they played their iconic 1995 album in its entirety during their two and a half hour set.
As a huge backdrop of the record's artwork was revealed, front man Billie Joe Armstrong told the crowd: "Ladies and gentlemen next year 2014 will mark 20 years of 'Dookie' so we're gonna play it from the back to the front."
System of a Down made their first appearance at the event since 2003 with a show highlighted by two giant circle pits during 'Toxicity'.
Earlier in the day, Frank Turner - who is suffering from a bad back brought on by his high-energy shows and extensive touring schedule - paid tribute to Nirvana's iconic performance at the festival in 1992 when he was brought on stage in a wheelchair, mirroring Kurt Cobain's entrance 11 years ago.
Up north at Reading's twin festival in Leeds, British rockers Biffy Clyro entertained the crowd in the pouring rain as they brought the first day to a close.
Lashing out against the weather, Simon Neil said: "The rain can suck a d**k, music is more powerful than nature."
While the 'Many of Horror' group were making their return to the event after a three-year absence, Fall Out Boy played the festival for the first time since 2009, entertaining fans with a set balancing their hits with tracks from new album 'Save Rock And Roll'.
