Vince Gill

Vince Gill was last night presented at the 2014 BMI Country Awards with the Icon Award.

The singer-songwriter was honoured at the event for his career, in which he's released over 20 studio albums and racked up sales of over 24 million.

Tributes came from fellow country artists including Michael McDonald, Keith Urban and Ashley Monroe, who spoke highly of Vince.

The 62nd annual event was held in Nashville, Tennessee at Broadcast Music, Inc.'s Music Row HQs, and also saw Darius Rucker take a victory for best song with hit single 'Wagon Wheel'.

Artists and publishers who are linked to the 50 most-performed country songs of 2013 were also celebrated, including performers such as Taylor Swift and Florida Georgia Line.
