Last year’s X Factor winner Matt Terry is back on the show this weekend, set to perform his brand new single ‘The Thing About Love’. For all fans of his who want to hear the track ahead of his live performance however, the song has now been released for streaming and download, and you can get your first listen of it below:
Speaking about the track, which showcases a softer and more vulnerable side of Matt, the singer said: “Heartbreak is something that everyone has been through. It’s one of the worst feelings in the world and you don’t think you’re ever going to get over it. I’ve been through it and this track sums up exactly how I felt at the time.”
Following his X Factor win, Matt has been riding a non-stop wave of success, having hitting the top three with his winner’s single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ before heading out with his fellow finalists on the official X Factor Tour.
From there, he went straight into writing and recording his debut album all around the globe, hitting studios in such places as Miami and Scandinavia, before featuring on Grenfell Tower tragedy charity single ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’.
Looking ahead to what the future holds, having even worked with Enrique Iglesias on ‘Subeme La Radio’ and releasing his successful single ‘Sucker For You’, Matt says: “I’m so excited for people to hear my new material. So far people know me as the guy who won X Factor. But when I look back on this time last year, I can’t quite believe how far I’ve come. I’m so grateful for where I am now, and I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I can’t wait for the next step in my journey.”
