Michael Jackson’s mother has dismissed reports she's unhappy about a planned Austrian tribute concert by applauding her son Jermaine Jackson’s Vienna show in a new video.
Reports had suggested Katherine Jackson was against the idea of staging the all-star show on 26 September - because the family was still grieving the loss of the King of Pop and it was so far away.
But she appears to be supporting Jermaine's venture, insisting it's just what her late son would have wanted. In the online video, circulated to news organisations on Thursday, she says, "I'd like to thank everyone who's participating in the tribute that's being done over there for my son Michael. I know that Michael would appreciate what all you all are doing (sic) if he was here today."
But Katherine appears to have her dates wrong, stating she'll be there for the show on 29 September - it takes place three days earlier. The tribute show has become a bit of a no-star zone in recent days; since Jermaine Jackson announced the line-up for the show on Tuesday, Natalie Cole, Chris Brown and Mary J. Blige have revealed they won't be able to make it, with Blige insisting she'll only be in Vienna if she can take care of commitments she has in Italy on the same day.
