Hannah Arterton is a new name to watch out for over the coming year, as she starts to make a name for herself on the big and small screen.
Arterton is following in the footsteps of her older sister Gemma, and is back on the big screen this week in Walking On Sunshine.
The actress kicked off her acting career back in 2010, and moved from short films such as Shitkicker and At First Sight before landing the role of Korinna in Atlantis.
Atlantis was a huge show for the BBC in the autumn of 2013, and saw Artetron star alongside Jack Donnelly, Mark Addy, Robert Emms and Jemima Rooper.
After enjoying success in the UK, the series has gone on to screen in the U.S. and Canada. A second series has been given the green light.
From her first major TV role, Arterton has made the leap to her first major film role with Walking On Sunshine.
Walking On Sunshine sees the actress tackle the musical, as she teams up with directors Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini.
Set to some of the most popular songs from the 1980s, the movie sees Arterton joined on the cast list by Annabel Scholey, Greg Wise, Leona Lewis, Katy Brand, and Giulio Berruti.
After a whirlwind romance, Maddie Scholey), fresh from a long-term relationship, is preparing to marry gorgeous Raf (Berruti) and has invited her sister Taylor (Arterton) to the wedding in Puglia, Italy.
Unbeknownst to Maddie, however, Raf is Taylor's ex-holiday flame, and the love of her life...and that is just one of the set-backs on their road to happy ever after...
Walking On Sunshine is the feature film directorial debut for Arterton, and is set to be one of the feel good films of the summer.
She is sticking with film in 2014, as she swaps the musical for the independent drama.
Hide and Seek is the feature film directorial debut of British filmmaker Joanna Coates, and gives Arterton a role to really get her teeth into.
Hide and Seek is playing at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, which will offer even more exposure for the young actress.
Arterton takes on the role of Hannah, in a film that follows four fragile young people flee London to start an unconventional utopia, creating a world of fantasy that overwhelms them.
Arterton is joined on the cast list by Joe Banks, Daniel Metz, Rea Mole, and Josh O'Connor: who are all also up and coming stars to keep an eye one.
Arterton is already starting to show her versatility as an actress, and she is one to really watch out for over the next couple of years.
Walking On Sunshine is released 27th June.
