Chris Pine has a very busy 2016 ahead with him as he is working on a range of high-profile movies as well as seeing some of them hit the big screen... The Finest Hours is the first of those films.

The Finest Hours

The Finest Hours

Pine takes on the real-life role of Bernie Webber, a member of the Coast Guard who is sent out on a daring and dangerous mission in 1952.

The movie is inspired by true events and based on the book The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard's Most Daring Sea Rescue by Michael J. Tougias & Casey Sherman and sees Craig Gillespie back in the director's chair.

The Finest Hours is the latest live action movie from Walt Disney Pictures and we have two great new clips for you to take a look at:

Pine leads and all-star cast as Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz, and Eric Bana are just some of the other great names that are on board.

Gillespie has brought us movies such as Lars and the Real Girl and Fight Night during his career, but The Finest Hours is his first film since Million Dollar Arm back in 2014. It is great to see him back.

In February of 1952, one of the worst storms to ever hit the East Coast struck New England, damaging an oil tanker off the coast of Cape Cod and literally ripping it in half.

On a small lifeboat faced with frigid temperatures and 70-foot high waves, four members of the Coast Guard set out to rescue the more than 30 stranded sailors trapped aboard the rapidly-sinking vessel. The Finest Hours is the story of their heroic mission, which is still considered the greatest small boat rescue in Coast Guard history.

The Finest Hours is released 19th February.
