Directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring such talent as Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, James Badge Dale, Taylor Kitsch and Jennifer Connelly comes upcoming film Only The Brave, based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. This week, a first look clip and new poster for the film have been revealed, which you can check out below:
Showcasing the heroics of a unit of local firefighters based in Yarnell, Arizona, the movie dramatizes just how the elite crew went up against the Yarnell Hill Fire, with hope and determination in their hearts. Through that drive to protect the community and local families, sacrifices are made and tribute is given to those men who traded their own mortality to ensure others kept theirs.
With a release scheduled for November, early reviews for the film have already started to drop, with the majority of them being favourable and praising the flick for being an emotional must-watch that recalls a tragic real-life event.
Oftentimes when a film like this is released, many forget to honour those who had fallen in the real-life tragedy, and so we take a look back at the members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who were overrun and killed by the fire on June 30, 2013.
Andrew Ashcraft, Robert Caldwell, Travis Carter, Dustin Deford, Christopher MacKenzie, Eric Marsh, Grant McKee, Sean Misner, Scott Norris, Wade Parker, John Percin, Anthony Rose, Jesse Steed, Joe Thurston, Travis Turbyfill, William Warneke, Clayton Whitted, Kevin Woyjeck and Garret Zuppiger were all taken by the fire, praised as heroes by then-President of the United States, Barack Obama and forever cemented in history.
Through tragedy, we find ways to honour those who have fallen, and we hope Only The Brave will do so in a respectful fashion.
Only The Brave comes to cinemas across the UK on November 10.
