Jennifer Lawrence has joined the cast of East Of Eden.
The movie will see Lawrence reunite with The Hunger Games director Gary Ross for the film; which is a big screen adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel.
According to Deadline Universal and Imagine Entertainment have optioned the rights to the book, but no screenwriter is officially attached to pen the screenplay.
The movie tells the story of two sons who fight for the attention of their farmer father and later end up in a bitter feud with each other.
Lawrence is set to play Cathy Ames, the cruel mother of the two boys and estranged wife of the farmer.
This is not the first time that East Of Eden has been adapted for the big screen as the movie was released in 1955.

It's believed that Ross is looking to split the novel into two movies.
Ross and Lawrence look set to work on another project together as Hannah Kent's novel Burial Rites will be adapted for the big screen.
