I, Daniel Blake's Dave Johns is to star in new revenge movie 'Two Graves'.

The English actor made his feature film debut in Ken Loach's gritty drama about the realities of unemployment in Northern England and he is going to follow-up that acclaimed performance with a leading role in the thriller.
Gary Young - who penned vigilante cult classic 'Harry Brown', in which Sir Michael Caine portrayed the titular retired former Royal Marine who takes on a gang of thugs on his estate - is making his directorial debut on the project and it will also star Cathy Tyson, David Hayman, Katie Jarvis, Danielle Harold, Josh Herdman and Kedar Williams-Stirling.
The movie is set in North East England and follows the story of Tyson's character, a doctor of pathology whose son is murdered who then tracks down the young man who she believes killed him. But her decision hold him hostage and torture has more tragic consequences.
Speaking to Screen International about her involvement, Young - who has also written the script - said: "I am absolutely thrilled that we've put together such an amazing cast. Cathy Tyson, Katie Jarvis and Dave Johns are amazing actors from three of the most iconic British movies from the past 30 years, and it's incredible, that in making my directorial debut, I managed to get all three of my first choices."
Shooting on the British film will begin next week.
'Two Graves' is not the only project Johns is attached to.
The comedian is also set to start filming a top secret new comedy which is being backed by a big Hollywood studio in the coming months.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the Three Empire Awards - at which he was named Best Male Newcomer for his performance in 'I, Daniel Blake' - he teased: "I'm making a new film which starts shooting in Yorkshire in May or June. It's a major British comedy backed by a Hollywood studio. I asked before this, 'What can I say?' And that's what they told me, that's all I can say."
